Are you kidding? Not for me.

Yes, for those who needed nonsense, it met its goal.

For me, it introduced a "new" method on the eve of the demise of the CC paid VR before it was even known. So grateful one FTer shared something so useful. I've had three visits already within two weeks and tried to keep them within range of gas well spent. It's even simpler than CVS.

I met my min. spend on Barclays already in my last visit. Also, released another CB bonus held up by a needed $400 spend. In fact, so cool because when my transaction was totaled, I was allowed to distribute the individual AMOUNTS of payment to my liking. I didn't want to give Citi even $100 more than necessary to hit that bonus level. Now I can better concentrate once more on points/miles again.

Thank you, FTer who shared. You did a good thing! :)

Hi, JudyJFLA, the answer you requested can be provided by someone here with more expertise. I can PM you my "mentor" and perhaps he can answer. Or perhaps a kind FTer will provide it, as well.

I wouldn't use the GC at AP but another miles card, instead. I liquidate my GCs via MOs ($999.31 or less) at my local grocer. Just say HI and tell them you want to use multiple swipes. Have another type of Debit card in your hand (like a bank one) for optics, if they seem to be resistant, then just swipe the GCs telling her/him the amount per card. I haven't had a multi-swipe problem, at all, so far. I assume you have Publix. Hopefully, they employ nice service desk workers...Best wishes! :)

PS. Wanna know if your regional mall can help you out? www.mallseeker.com. Find a mall near you and give them a call (their office line) and see if the GCs they push are cost effective and if the limit is high enough for a drive out. And, don't assume parking is a nightmare. The bigger the mall, yes, the more likely. Less is more when it comes to parking at the smaller malls. Less parking hassle, more TIME! :)

Would you be so kind as to share by PM?
My nearest options for CC VR's are now too far away, Kangaroo and Murphy Oil Stations cost more in gas to get to than it is worth!

Thank you. FAQ says it can be used anywhere, not just the mall. Can you register them online to be able to use them at AP, or just unloading them to BB at WM?

This is a very unique VGC. It has a PIN but didn't work at either WM or Kroger... Seems just like the old 18# VGC issue. Never tried AP but I think it should work b/c AP runs it as Credit. I dumped my trial one in Evolve. YMMV.

ooops.

I will say since I have no benefit from this, only ones in my state are Amex.

But from their site, there are 2 types, US Bank and Meta. Pay attention to which one you buy.

Do not confuse Glimcher VGC with Simon VGC. Glimcher VGC has only $2.00 fee and it is issued by US Bank only with Visa logo while Simon mall has both AMEX and Visa versions with $2.95 fee. Simon visa is a MO friendly product but the MS status for Glimcher VGC is still unknown so far.

Thanks everyone. Looks like Simon is available online as well so the .95 extra seems worth it over the Glimcher. At least I do not have to go to the actual mall!! Now if I can buy with Amex Gift Cards, my life would be complete!

Will these post as a purchase on Citibank cards? Which ones can be liquidated via BB as well, or is it just MO?

Just a head's up - if you register online with Simon Malls to buy VGC in volume, a pending charge will show up with Chase for $1.00. This is the actual text: "SIMON GC VOLUME 0000"

Any reports of Simon GC's showing up as cash advances?

As well with simon, they charge processing and shipping charges, making it a bad deal.

They sell Amex and Visa gift cards. I purchased the US Bank Visa and unloaded via Evolve with no issues. About to do BB at WM today, but don't expect any issues. You can also buy them online in bulk, but I’m hesitant to fill out the form and give that much info.

It’s coded on my Citi bill as transaction type 2:

04/05/2014 XXXXX MALL 4820 LOCATION 502.95
Merchant Category: MISCELLANEOUS / SPECIALTY RETAIL STORES
Person: XXXXXXX

And for Amex:

XXXXXX MALL 4820 PERSON $502.95
Doing business as:
XXXXXX MALL 4820
ATTN MALL MNGMNT OFFICE
ADDRESS
UNITED STATES
Category: Other – Miscellaneous

Thx for the info.
