They've shut me down.
I loaded 5 VRs two times. Both times, I took out cash advance at my credit union.
I called them and they said your account is completely closed. Luckily I had a balance of only $4 which they're saying I can use anytime. After I use it, the card will be closed.
It was a nice $5k of MS though. I'll take it.

Hello Guys, an update - I received my first of 5 potential cards. One is the number of times I went through the entire signup process including creating a sign on - I guess we will have to wait some more.
Two questions:
1) On the failed signups - did you get a login for that failure - my guess is no.
2) After you received the cards for the failed attempts - did u create new login accounts for each "failed" card?
Thanks!

It looks like there is no way to avoid paying the $3.95 monthly fee. If there is zero balance on the card, then the monthly fee can't be charged. However, when I loaded VR's onto the card later in the month there is a "clawback fee" to charge the monthly fee. A practical loading limit without being shutdown seems to be about $2k per month according to reports on this thread, so the monthly fee amounts to about $1 per VR loaded.
