Issues at Staples

So I went to Staples today and got an alternate payment required warning at the register when I tried to purchase 2 200$ GCs.. has anyone else seen this?

Was it just declined? Try another card? I've had this when I was out of town or when I had bought multiple purchases in one day.

At CVS this means that the transaction was declined by the bank. Normally due to a fraud alert. Call the bank of the card you tried to use.

i hope the OP called his bank before posting this question.

and if you didnt that should have been step 1

let us know what the CC company say when you call and ask why the purchase got declined.

@ $6.95 fee per $200 GC I think we all know the CC company is Chase and the OP was using 1 of their INK cards I hope thats true otherwise either the OP knows some great deal that no one else does or is spending alot of $$$ they dont need to be

+1 the target issue has had some of my cards on a higher alert than normal.

bought some today w no issues...guessing OP's cc was declined and nothing more

Yeah it is confirmed. I had called about possible fraudulent charges, was told there was none and that the card was active and I left it at that. Called back and found that the monthly spending limit does not go by calender month. My bad. Mods feel free to lock this one down.
