Many people where buying variableVisa GC at Fry's and or Krogers and getting fuel points as well as miles and points, but that all stopped in Sept, but you can still buy the $100 visa GC and get the fuel points.... Oh BTW, we can still use CC.

As of today, Safeway stores in Sacramwnto area seem to be clamping down on cc purchases for vgc. Anyone else experience this?

(1)I think Redbird may have taken the market share from the grocery store(GC) and Walmart (MO) in my area.
(2) AmEx (OBC) is gone or very restricted

demand for GC is down, MS is down...

I went to my local Vons yesterday. All the 500.00 variable VGC were all taken off the shelf. There used to be stacks of them.

Ask for it to any employee. The store that I frequent, I am the only one buying, my MSing bottle neck is cashing out the VGCs.....

My local Ralphs has plenty of variable US Bank MC. No Visas, for whatever reason.

I tend to go to Neighborhood Walmarts to buy Sunrise GC's for $4.94 each instead of the marginally greater $5.95 seen other places. The neighborhood Walmart codes as a grocery store for my AMEX Surpass card so I generate 6x points pretty easily doing this

The only time I've ever had a problem loading BB with a USBGC bought at Kroger was when I fat-fingered the PIN. Took a few phone calls to fix but it had nothing to do with the GC itself.

Master card or visa makes a difference?

I also buy my sunnies from WMNM with my OBC and use them to pay WM Synchrony CC. Have done this easily using Kate and regular registers.

My local grocery chain had both Visa GCs from MetaBank and Mastercard GCs from US Bank. $5.95 load fee for either.
Choice is a wonderful thing.

I don't understand that you can treat WM card as a prepaid VGC. Can you explain more detail? To me, $5 CB for every $500 spend is not a good deal.

Then I get $20.xx for each sunnies I buy from NM to pay my WM card in $500 increments. My CL on this card is $12.5K which they raised last quarter of 2014.
