So, do you get the same promo with buying Sears gc and not visa? Also, 2 x $50?
I turned $700 in Lands End cards into Sears cards, $50 at a time, and was able to get the $5 award card. So that is an extra 10% plus an additional 4% if I get anything for rewards. It did take a while at the register, so I am not sure it is worth the extra $70. But I also have a legitimate concern to turn LE into Sears in case LE is spun off. Still have a bunch of LE cards to cycle through one way or the other.
My SYWR account did go into fraud protection due to so many of the same orders. I needed to call while in store to release it.
I may visit another Sears and do another $1K so I am not stuck with LE cards. Maybe I will see if it works to keep loading an additional $50 on to a single Sears card instead of getting a separate $50 card so I am not left with all of these cards.
I really don't want to need to get management involved in converting GC to VISA. I am concerned it could cause them to stop accepting GC to buy GC. I did a bunch of GC purchases using GC at my Kmart last year which needed management intervention and it caused the store to enforce their policy of not allowing it at all.

I had a print out of 2x $50 on VISA GC gets $10 in Sears award and brought it with me (I visited them beforehand to see if there was an in-store flyer...I didn't see it). A manager had to come and do override stuffs. And gave me Sears GC instead of the Sears Award GC...the cashier was showing me these two different GCs when we were waiting for a manager.
For buy $50 Sears GC, get $5 Sears award GC, I saw an in-store flyer.

Also confirmed no SWYP for purchase of these. Bummer, but not big deal. Overall, this deal is some work, but you make money on it. The double dip AND cash in hand works out nicely. All our Sears in town have been wiped clean... (not entirely by me)
