It is surprising that they'd be doing that.

That is a true bummer. I was planning to try it today.

Ok my $200 one works. Not sure if it is the card value or sth else.

But I tried $100 one first w/o registering and then I register it says invalid.

For $200 one I registered first and it went though.

I've done paypal 280 something today. And money are already in my bank account. That was quick.
Not sure what Paypal will think about it, but it works.

when your paypal balance drops to zero and you withdraw more cash from paypal, they take it from your bank account not your credit card account.

No, you can't specify CC as a backup option for PP debit card. It has to be a bank account.
Exception maybe that you can specify PayPal CC, but I don't have that one.

So they process it as charge to one debit and refund to another. Wondering if there'd be any problem on the part of the recipient account. Wouldn't the recipient bank have to pay 'refund' fee because of the refund to the card? Has anyone ever experienced any AA because of excessive 'refunds'?

+1

Ditto, etc.
I did about 3 times that amount, verified my identity, and it's there about 5 hours later.

I think it depends of funds type you transferring out:
- if it's from your bank account or "earned" money - shall be acceptable;
- if it's from reloads - not...

As a test, I sent $50 to my UFB Direct miles earning debit card. It was processed as a $50 POS Credit which I assume will offset $50 of my POS Debits which earn miles. I'll see if that's reflected in my statement at the end of the month.

Supposedly you can receive money to a bank account, but there doesn't seem to be an option for anything other than debit when receiving or sending money.
