I priced my $200 CVS pharmacy card, only $164., is not better than I can get at ebay after the cost incl. Paypal. Is there an outfit that I can exchange for Nordstrom cards instead of cash for a better conversion rate?

That's funny, I've sold about $15,000 to Cardpool.

I've mailed out every card using their prepaid label - no tracking whatsoever. I have been playing with fire. I've had $1000 Neiman Marcus in one envelope and various $800 worth envelopes.

No fault to Cardpool - but I've had a check lost in the mail. This part gets me, the errant recipient opened my check and self addressed an envelope to me with the check.

Good luck selling GC on eBay. I learn it the hard way

I used TCB + Cardpool to make a cardpool account for my wife, my daughter, and I. I ordered $1000 of Best Buy gift cards on each account. After I did this and purchased another $1000 or so of cards, I've been blacklisted by Cardpool. Every order I place is canceled within 2 days. All of my payment information is correct. They won't respond to any of my emails. I did have a phone number for them from when they called me once to verify my information. I tried calling this number back and it was disconnected or not accepting calls.

I've moved all of my business to CardCash/ABCGiftCards. It's a shame for Cardpool because I buy around $10,000 in gift cards each month.

I'm on the opposite end and have probably sold 5k+ to CP in the last month or 2. Only on one occasion, when I had a 1k+ transaction, did I not use their prepaid label. Everything arrived fine, although when I did try and sell one batch they decided they did not want to accept (guessing because it was mostly Starbucks) and sent the cards back, no harm no foul.

No I didn't. I haven't registered any of the amex gc's and this is this first time I've hit a snag trying to use one.... either online or in store. I'll try again tonite and if it doesn't go thru I'll just use a regular card tmrw since I'll have a few cards resetting at $0 for the annual spend req's :)

Has Cardpool asked you to sign up as a bulk seller? After I submitted a ~$1.5K sale order on Cardpool the other day, they sent me the following message:

Thank you for your recent transaction! Based on a review of our records, you have reached the limit in the value of gift cards that may be sold under a regular Cardpool account and must upgrade to a bulk seller account in order to continue processing transactions with Cardpool. We ask all customers who have sold over a certain dollar amount in gift cards to Cardpool to verify their account by completing a bulk seller application. This is a one-time process that we undertake to help us provide the safest and most secure gift card exchange service on the market.
My total sales to Cardpool over a span of a year is about $3.6K. UPDATE: Interestingly, even if I haven't signed up as a bulk seller, Cardpool still processed the gift cards they received today and sent me the payment notification.

When I'm selling significant amounts of gift cards to Cardpool, I pony up for a Priority Mail flat-rate envelope with Signature Confirmation. Even though it doesn't really give me any additional protection, it just give me a little more peace of mind having some tracking information. When I drop it in the mail on a Saturday in NY, it's in Cardpool's San Francisco PO box Monday morning.

No, Cardpool never did. I transacted $5,000 with them and I voluntarily signed up for the bulk seller program. I was forced to sign into it with Plastic Jungle before the closed their doors.

I don't know when they arrive into Cardpool's SF PO box, but it takes any where from 4 to 6 days before I receive an email about a payment notification.

Not happy with CardPool

I had a similar issue w them. The cards were $800+. They don't even give a reason which was the most frustrating. I think the first user said it best. Can't do huge amounts and cards at once

Just sign up as a bulk seller - they will do further verification and then you can sell larger amounts. Comes in handy when you can break even or make a small profit recycling plastic (as in thousands in gift cards). Go green and recycle!:D

What are you guys trying to sell? If it's "high risk" cards they'll just return it.

"High Risk" being defined as easily drained online, like Starbucks where you can do online transfers

I sold a few thousand recently for my first sale and other than a call to ask a few questions (like where I bought the gcs), they processed my payment in about a week. Sent second batch a week later and they sent a check in about 3 biz days.

I admit I was irritated at getting the phone call as they were clearly trying to determine if I obtained the gcs legally, while couching the questions as some sort of "verification" process. If that had been clearly mentioned during my online submission, I wouldn't have been as irritated at the type of questions being asked. No call second transaction so I presume I passed muster.

I finally decided to sign up as a bulk seller after being asked (automated email) a second time to do so. The direct deposit option for registered bulk sellers is a big plus. But unless Amex has any more lucrative cashback sync offers coming up soon, I don't really see myself selling much to Cardpool anytime soon.

jm38750n Jan 8, 2014 7:10 pm

Cardpool's direct deposit is really fast. They don't batch process the payments weekly.

And AFAIR on the T&C for a bulk seller, there's no stipulation of needing to sell $WXYZ per month, so it doesn't hurt to be a bulk seller.

Would suggest this as well, especially around the holiday season. I recycled just shy of 700 GCs thanks to all the lovely holiday deals, actually just finishing up with the stragglers that I kept back for myself :D
