$124/month seems off. Did you include an ATM fee? I have this at right under 1cpm when maxing out 5k per month and unloading. I don't drain the last bit off every month until I have $400 in residual for withdraw at an ATM. I have a no fee atm.
If you wanted to minimize the cost per mile you would load $1k in a month and unload it over three months making it 0.3cpm. Like you I'm more interested in maximizing the return on my time, and I value the points at >1.5cpm for the cards I'm using to load. |

Load: $1000, cost = $3
ATMs: $400 w/d 2x $2, cost = $4 (over two months, no added Amex fee) Extra spend: $200 ($1000 load - $800 atm, forego 2%), cost = $4 Points = 1000, cost = $11, cost per point = $0.011 If using a card w. 2x points bonus @ Target: Points = 2000, cost = $11, cost per point = $.0055 |

There was a credit union card that gave 3x points at Target. Now, it's closer to 2.5 due to a devaluation.

There is a pretty useless Wells Fargo one that gives bonus on grocery. Not that I am advocating its use. They are just filling my box.

ok guys, wat do u do with a pile of Jacksons? I really don't want to bank in and repeat every month...

I recently read some older articles about using the Target AmEx to rack up spend. I'm running the Delta Platinum AmEx right now and have some concerns about my ability to hit the 50k mark this year for the bonus MQMs. Can anyone confirm that using an AmEx on the Target reloadable card still gives points/miles?
|
Exvaris, yes, it does. It counts as a regular purchase at Target. Just go to the customer service department and say you want to load 1000 on the Target Amex. Then, give them your cc, and it works.
|
Can anyone confirm I'm understanding the load limits correctly: 2 cards, loaded 2k total on 8/15 and again on 8/25 then 1k on 1 card on 8/27. Next opportunity for me to load 2k would be 9/12.
