I was charged 1.00 for sending $250.00 and my wife was charged $1.00 for receiving that same $250.00.

Did I miss something? I thought there were no fees...

one of my friends got his account cancelled.

Be very careful

Accounts are being shut down right, left and centre.
If they sniff you're up to something, they'll close you down.

Don't send back and forth immediately, stagger amounts, use different names/IP addresses etc.
A bit of common sense goes a long way...

Bump. I can't find this either. Is it possible to do $$1k/month through this service without any problems like having the account closed?

"There are no fees charged for withdrawing funds from your Amazon Payments account, but there are minimum transfer amounts:

* Minimum of $1.00 for Amazon.com Gift Certificate withdrawals"

Would this apply to what you did?

I can not find ANYTHING about a maximum on the amazon site yet... but i did read that people were banned for doing more than $1,000 at a time. But I'm told $1000 a month is no problem. I think I'm gonna do that. Send $1k a month from wife to self (with only 1 card at a time?).

"edit my account settings" -> middle section where it says "view my account limits"

And no, you do to get banned for trying to send more than $1k, it just won't go thru

You WILL get banned if you try to set up a lot of accounts and send a lot more $. They may not catch on right away, but they will eventually.

That makes sense.
But this still seems like a great way to meet spending requirements on cards. Easier than the mint coins even.

It is, just don't get greedy.

:-)
Good advice. Don't ruin a good thing.

greenythebeast May 20, 2011 4:40 pm

So any tips on how to use this responsibly to meet spending requirements?

Aside from use it to meet $1k worth of spend per month? No.

abcx May 20, 2011 6:02 pm

Where is it written that personal accounts don't have a fee?

Please let this thread fade into obscurity.
