St Bart's - which hotel?
Search function is down (at least for me, not coming up with anything, even things that I know have been discussed).
I'm looking for opinions on below 4 hotels. All are already fully booked for new year's and I highly doubt that cent will be able to do anything about it, but they are working on it. So, if availability weren't an issue, which one would you pick? Obviously would love to hear from those who have stayed at any of the properties.
Le Guanahani
Eden Rock
Le Toiny
Le Sereno

fractional villas at Eden Rock are booked too?
edit - sorry i thought they were separate units
might also try 5C for Eden Rock and Cent concierge for others.

so as 5C, did they tell you anything besides "sold out"?
(offer of waitlist, etc..)

I contacted the hotels & RC5C first. Was told that there are waitlists and will hear at the end of this month regarding availability. Later I involved the concierge, but since they were of no help previous years, I doubt something will change this time around.

sorry to hear that, i guess my question was just whether being 5C helped at all.
isle de france (€1070-3100) is another that came up in this forum.
not sure if min stay is 5 or 10 nts..
does carl gustaf (€1780-7285) compare?
min stay is 14 nts (vs 10 nts at other properties)
pricing comparison >
eden rock €795-4425
from last NYE >
le guanahani €870-5670
le sereno €980-2880
le toiny €1750-3150
@ eden rock's 2 new villas >
2BR villa nina (from €7K)
4BR villa rockstar (from €15K)
(this €30MM villa (st barts record) is actually less, from €12K )

Update from RC5C
"Dear BLV,
I have been in contact with Eden Rock and Le Toiny regarding your request for reservations. Please accept my apologies for the delay. However, the hotels did not have their rates loaded for that far in advance.
Eden Rock has advised that they are fully committed as their hotel is reserved a year or more in advance by repeat clients who confirm well in advance and they are waitlisted until their rates are available. They have advised they can place you on a waitlist at this time."
The only thing I was offered is a one bedroom villa at Le Toiny for 1840eu/night.

I've stayed at Le Toiny, but not during the high season. It's very lovely and quite spacious. The restaurant is fantastic and the villas are quite private. It definitely has more of a private villa feel than the competing properties. I don't think you will be disappointed if you understand that you will be paying a huge premium for staying in SBH during the high season.

You may want to check the availability of villas through St. Barth Properties, Wimco, and other agencies.
St. Barth is really a "villa destination", the hotels are fine but for the same money you can get a villa just for yourself. Many people who stay at a hotel in St. Barth book a villa the next time.

Ille de France...
...get's Vaulte's vote. He's been posting up some articles about St Barths recently. Here's the first one. There's another coming next week. And, hopefully, another after that.
The report on hotels and beaches is coming next week...
Enjoy!
