I also was booked at PH Marrakech for end of this month and then moved my reservation over to Nobu Marrakech. At that time I was told the new re-opening date is 1st May (as I have some clients interested). I might head over to PH to have a chat with their team when I’m in Marrakech later this month.

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated!! I am not a Hyatt die-hard fan, I was jusr curious to visit it as it’s been a long-time coming.
i am actually splitting my stay in Marrakech to get a feel for different type of hotels and also as part of client research
We are doing a few nights in La Mamounia followed by a few nights in Nobu and then a few nights in a tented camp in Agafay dessert.
The idea was get a taster for pure bliss/luxury, one for the younger crowds and something with a more remote/dessert experience

I just got back from a quick visit to Park Hyatt Marrakech. In fact, I might have been one of the first travel advisors to visit.
I can provide further details to whomsoever is interested if you PM me, but it gets a huge huge thumbs up from me. Absolutely stunning. A definite competitor to the luxury properties in that vicinity. Already planning a proper stay in Aug/Sept if the schedule allows.
Expect some teething issues in the first few months as things settle down… but I can already tell they have a fantastic team there and are keen to run it like a well oiled machine…

With regards to my stay at La Mamounia, again I will add some details here if people find that useful… but in summary it was absolutely amazing. I fell in love with the property and most importantly the staff. The architecture is stunning and the staff is v polished, clearly love their hotel and want guests to have an amazing experience.
in quick summary, what I loved
- Stunning architecture in each nook and corner of the hotel. The rooms, common areas, the grounds
- the staff! They remembered our names during lunch then came over for a chat later at dinner. The concierge team asked how our tours were. The front desk at check-out remembered us from our check-in three days back. Breakfast staff knew our dietary requirements on the second breakfast etc etc etc
- Most importantly… because I was really worried about this…they ensure the guest experience is not diluted with all the day-trippers/insta influencer crowds visiting for a quick snack/coffee and photos. Several areas are residents only, restaurants have priority for residents, no day pool/spa packages etc.
what could be better
- no welcome drink. Not to us… not to anyone else we saw. Strange that something so basic is missing from the experience
- the room size… small is an understatement. The balcony makes it a bit spacious but there is no denying the rooms are absolutely tiny. The really dark interior makes them look smaller
- the restaurants are ridiculously over priced. Especially the Morrocan one where we had a three course meal. It was ok-ish at the best and the pricing was laughable.
I had a full tour visit of the property with our partners at Mamounia… so if anyone has very specific questions then I’m happy to answer them via DM

The lack of welcome drink is very surprising to say the least… La Mamounia has a famous signature check-in where they escort you to one of the lobby alcoves and they bring you almond milk and dates. It is for every costumer for any room type. I was there 2 weeks ago and received it as always. May I ask at what time you arrived? Sometimes for very late night arrivals they take you to your room straight away and skip the welcome drink. Otherwise it would be a serious protocole misstep

whilst we were waiting there we did wonder why we werent offered anything… not even water. This was the case with other guests waiting to check-in as well in nearby alcoves. Strange indeed.

1pm. We were taken to the alcove and we waited there for 10min or so until the staff arrived to complete check-in.
