Lot's of choices but my favorite is the Ritz Carlton Key Biscaye. 20 minutes from the airport and downtown but you feel you are far away from it all. Great hotel, great service, nice pool and beach.

MO Miami or the new FS if you want to stay close to downtown.
Turnberry Isle in Aventura is a nice resort hotel which has jacuzzis, TV, phone in the bathroom of even the smallest room of the hotel. Nice suites.

Miami is worth a visit with so many new hotels being built recently:
FS Miami
RC Coconut Grove
RC South Brach
RC Key Biscayne
MO Miami
My experience at Coconut Grove was positive. It is a small hotel with less than 150 rooms (I believe) as an adjacent tower is used for RC residences.
