I find most of Caribbeans is overpriced... TAs blindly hyping up Aman, Covid-caused demand for Caribbeans, etc. I stayed at Kila last fall and was completely disappointed.

It can be assumed. While I used to spend a small car on a trip, we ended up with a mid-range vehicle on our caribbean trip the week after next. Stupid, but morons as I pay......

At least car pricing is less deceptively predatory than hotel pricing, especially Aman taxes and fees often going upwards of 20% of published rate.

Hotel taxes are decided based on the place not the hotel. Turks and Mexico have extreme taxed 27%+.

Also, these places you are paying a fortune because it’s so close to NY. People from NY will pay a fortune for the small amount of time they can get away. Of course none of these hotels have the same value as the Maldives as they are more expensive then all pretty much. All about location and convenience.

doesn’t explain service charges. You get services at all hotels, but not everyone hides them as a 10% surcharge.
