Pisa / Florence

We may have to overnight in Pisa before heading into Tuscany. Are there any luxury hotels worth booking? On way back we are going via Florence (which we have done before) so was thinking of just relaxing at the FS for a night before the flight (2 of us early 30s). Any help appreciated.

There is no five-star hotel in Pisa. The two four-star choices (per Travel-42.com) are Abitalia Tower Plaza (a contemporary hotel with 121 rooms) and Relais dell'Orologio (a 14th century inn with 21 rooms).

Bagni di Pisa (if technically not in Pisa but very near) is a 5 star hotel. I found it mediocre, one review here was very positive.

If you’re after real luxury (like FS), then skip Pisa and head to Florence. The other Tuscan cities only have decent boutique hotels options or very mediocre 5-star hotels.

Great. Thank you. FS Florence it is (assuming that’s the best in or near Florence)

I really enjoyed Bagni di Pisa (LHW property). It's 5-6km from Pisa if I recall. Give it a shot!

Here's my review of Florence hotels; I thought Four Seasons was definitely the best hotel in Florence.

Something I second, even if I only know StR and FS
