Munich to Florence Road Trip
Hello there,
im planning a general road trip from Munich to Florence and back.
Other than the obvious things (villa feltrinelli on the way to and Bulgari Milan on the way back). What stops would you suggest in between? Either for Lunches or over nighters...
Open to any ideas, no fixed schedule on our part. Would love to have some nice driving scenery as well. (so dont have to take the direct routes).
Thanks

You could drive via Garmisch-Reschenpass-Meran.
Lunch Stop on the way:
http://www.seehotel-ueberfahrt.com/de -> Tegernsee, close to Munich.
http://www.weinegg.com/ -> Tirol, Girlan.
We did this trip last year on our bikes.

Not too far south of the Brenner Pass on A22 is Brixen (Bressanone).

A wonderful and very historic city on the edge of the Dolomites that attracts lots of skiers in the winter and hikers in the summer.
The next valley south is St. Ulrich (Ortisei). It requires a bit of a detour off of the A22 but a very scenic little city in the heart of the Dolomites with lots of native wood carving shops in addition to skiing and hiking.
