First A380 flight: where?

Hello everybody!
According to a380production.com the first LH A380 is almost ready.

I did a search on the forum but couldn't find any recent information about which one will be the first route served by the new bird.

Anyone can help?

cheers

I'd assume the later one. SIN is too long of a flight to get a turnaround done with the first birdie.

Even higher density that AF. No good.....

Just an uneducated guess:
I believe we'll see some domestic test runs with the first LH A380. Only FRA and MUC appear to have the equipment (gates, catering trucks, trained firemen, apron space, ...) to accomodate the A380. As much as I would like to see HAM-FRA I believe it will be FRA-MUC.

As for the first longhaul both JFK and IAD have been recently upgraded with 'real' Senator lounges instead of contract lounges. In contrast to SIN the east coast destinations can be served daily with one A380.
Comparing IAD and JFK markets JFK should get the first route. Domestic premium/flagship products are bound to NYC for a reason (i.e. United PS).

There are rumours that SQ will discontinue FRA-JFK. Flying A380, LH might be able to tap into a lot of that business...

No, no, NOOOOOO! I'd be in severe pain if the SQ FRA-JFK is axed.

Why? While this used to be a the best alternative for this route there are many comparable options now.

LH is evaluating 19 possible destinations for the A380. Will be interesting to see which one they will pick.

Why will that be interesting?

You mean because all other airlines already own and operate 380s and LH must find a 380-free route to impress their customers?

OF course not. SQ & QF A380s both fly SYD-SIN route.

Which option should that be ? LH or even worse one of the US carriers ?
Are you serious to find them "comparable" to SQ ?
