I will be on two separate tickets, JFK-FRA on Singapore Airlines and FRA-OPO on Lufthansa. I believe my SQ flight will arrive at the B gates, and I will need to connect to my Schengen gate in the A gates. It's my understanding that I will need to clear passport control, but can check in for my connecting flight and print my boarding pass at the transfer counter and will not need to re-clear security. Is this correct?

Pre-COVID there was an airside bus from B N/S to Z and after that you could clear passport control at Z and go to A without security but the bus is not running all the time during COVID.
Although yes, any transfer counter, Lufthansa service counter could print out your boarding passes for the FRA-OPO leg.

The bus had started again late last year. I haven't seen any current info on it's status recently.

Thinking of booking our return flight from Tivat Montenegro with Lufthansa connecting at Frankfurt in July, never been to Frankfurt airport before, the website says it lands LH1469 and LH922 departs from Terminal 1 but with only a connecting time of 1 hour 5 minutes. How does this sound - possible? Ours appears to be the last Lufthansa flight into Heathrow that night so what happens if we miss that flight?
What is the current refund policy on Business Saver tickets please - usually fly BA so don't know much about Lufthansa? Thanks

I think flights from TIV arrive in T1B and flights to LHR usually depart from T1B though you may have to clear transfer security. Unless the incoming flight is late you should be able to make this connection.
I don’t know if the current policy is different but Business Saver fares are not normally refundable.

I think I'm making this too hard, so figured I'd just ask the experts...
I'll be connecting in FRA on two separate itineraries and have a question about carryons/checked bags. I usually carry on one small duffle that fits under the seat and one backpack that fits overhead on my flights. The rest of my flights on this trip are business or first and it doesn't appear to be an issue on those flights. However...
I'll be on LH from LJU (Slovenia) to FRA in economy and reading the policies it appears I can have only one 18lb bag carryon. (Does LH strictly enforce weight?)
There doesn't appear to be a way to purchase an additional carry-on allowance. In FRA, I'm flying on a different itinerary to JFK so I won't be able to check a bag through.
I'm assuming since I'll be traveling from a Schengen country to a non-Schengen country, before then going through passport control to exit to the US, that picking up a bag isn't an issue? That is I didn't have to pick up a checked bag that I couldn't otherwise save time if I had no checked bag (recognizing I may have to wait for the bag to arrive, but I couldn't have headed directly to the next gate). In other words, I essentially enter Germany anyway then it's like I'm just departing for the US as if I arrived at FRA to start my trip?
(This may be a moot point as I may take an earlier flight in and then head to an airport hotel anyway to take a nap and shower, but just trying to evaluate options here. I'm pretty certain I can leave the airport for a brief time while in transit to head to a hotel.)

There doesn't appear to be a way to purchase an additional carry-on allowance. In FRA, I'm flying on a different itinerary to JFK so I won't be able to check a bag through.
I'm assuming since I'll be traveling from a Schengen country to a non-Schengen country, before then going through passport control to exit to the US, that picking up a bag isn't an issue? That is I didn't have to pick up a checked bag that I couldn't otherwise save time if I had no checked bag (recognizing I may have to wait for the bag to arrive, but I couldn't have headed directly to the next gate). In other words, I essentially enter Germany anyway then it's like I'm just departing for the US as if I arrived at FRA to start my trip?
(This may be a moot point as I may take an earlier flight in and then head to an airport hotel anyway to take a nap and shower, but just trying to evaluate options here. I'm pretty certain I can leave the airport for a brief time while in transit to head to a hotel.)

Yes, as long as you have enough time to pick your bag up and re-clear security, it won't make a difference. A flight within Schengen is treated as a domestic flight.

If you are on one ticket TIV-FRA-LHR and miss your connection in FRA, they will put you up in a hotel at or near the airport and put you on the first available flight to LHR in the morning.
I think flights from TIV arrive in T1B and flights to LHR usually depart from T1B though you may have to clear transfer security. Unless the incoming flight is late you should be able to make this connection.
I don’t know if the current policy is different but Business Saver fares are not normally refundable.

Planning to book SQ JFK - FRA and separate ticket on LH FRA-FCO. Can anyone advise if this is a bad idea, I will need to claim and recheck bags.

So in 3 weeks I'll be flying USA-FRA-OPO (so Non-Schengen to Schengen) and back. I'm just double checking I understand the current German Covid rules, its negative test OR proof of vaccination, correct? So fully vaccinated travelers don't need a negative test?
Also, since we are just transiting Germany we don't have to fill out the digital entry registration, correct?
