Wierd LH experience

Hi there!

I had a really strange experience with LH and tought I might share.

I was doing a transatlantic from the US to Eastern Europe, with a connection in FRA.

I checked in for all the flights at our local airport in IL.

When I got to FRA, I noticed that my name was on the "cleared standby" list. I was really puzzled, as I was booked and ticketed over 4 months ago and checked in about 13 hours prior to the flight. When I brought this up to the gate agent, she said that the monitors were not working and that everything was fine. I had seat 10B on a 737.

When we were boarding my father (10A) was issued a seat change to 10C. I was issued a new boarding pass, which still said 10B.

So far so good, right?

Well, when I got onto the plane, I found out that since row 10 is a exit row, seat B does not exist! Only A and C!!!

What the heck?

Anyways, I got really mad at the flight attendant as she just told me to sit in 10A. Fortunately enough, they had not sold it to anyone else!

Ohh and also, she had let a little girl sit in 11A, which is still an exit row!

What the heck happened to the rules???

Please, feel free to comment!

You probably had one of the 737s where the front exit row is missing the window seat. The window seat is A, so the remaining seats should be B and C.

So let me get this straight: There was a hole between the two seats?

No, the window seat was missing, but the two remaining were labeled as A and C.

Oh okay. Then the middle seat was not labeled correctly. Although on the A300-600 the two seats on each side of the aircraft are also A & C, but I would argue that the seat is technically still a seat in the middle and should be seat B. I am sure the Lufthansa system shows the window seat missing, but still calls your seat B.

But let's blame it on LH IT

I think the system did pick up on it, that why it placed me on standby. But the gate agent could not figure it out.

Am I realistic?

Also, would this have been a good chance of betting into J, as technicaly my seat in Y does not exist?

Why would you trade the best seat on the plane for a crappy seat in C?
You are insane!
