Airlineroute now reports the change:
Lufthansa in recent schedule update adjusted planned service to Pune in India, when it resumes operation on 28OCT18. Upon service resumption, the airline plans to operate Airbus A319 aircraft, with configuration of C44Y72, instead of Privatair Boeing 737-700. Operational routing will be Frankfurt – Baku – Pune, with Baku as technical stop.

Amadeus shows this A319 in 22C/72Y config with 1-1 in Business and 3-3 in Eco:
If you compare that to a 'normal' LH A319
The row numbers line up, but the config in the front is definitely different. Would be curious to see if they can fit business seats in an A319 within a few weeks. When LH Technik converted the A321 for the German Air Force they got STCs for ZIM (PE) and B/E seats for the type, perhaps somebody is using that? I most certainly hope they find a solution for the C cabin. Let me ask the lurkers...

If the 22C information is correct, then this must be a pretty similar configuration to the 737-700 PrivatAir used. The 737-700 is - according to the LH website - 32.18m long, whereas the A319 has a length of 33.84m. The 737-700 had a 20C/66Y configuration. The A319 seems to have then one more business class row and one row less in economy with a 22C/72Y configuration.

Actually you make a good point
737-700 and A319 are quite similar in floorspace, however...
.. I'm afraid this is gonna be it.

The answer is in
Ouch ouch ouch...
Hi Oliver,
from November 1st until the end of January 2019, Lufthansa will operate a regular A319, a short-haul aircraft with 22 seats in Business Class and 72 seats in Economy Class.
Lufthansa will offer a block of 3 seats for each Business Class passenger to relax on board.
Business Class customers will be offered Inflight Entertainment Vouchers enabling free WLAN download of movies on their own devices.
Economy Class passengers will find a wide range of magazines on board.
Meal service represents the usual Lufthansa longhaul service: In Business Class two meal services will be offered with a choice of Western and Indian menus. In Economy Class there will be two meal services as well with an Indian food choice.
Best,
Vanessa

Wow... Harsh on both fronts, they can't even provide personal device entertainment for Y, just "a wide range of magazines." And good luck getting sleep in J even with having a full row. If they keep charging what they are charging now, it is highway robbery!

Sad. Many people don't know and book this in anticipating of relaxing business class. This is a case for the Verbraucherschutz.
They even have the guts to include a link to real international business class video when booking.

Now its scheduled with Privatair 73W again like it used to be. The guy at LH who does the negotiations with Privatair must be pretty tough, or VW must have made a call to someone at LH....

Some small update: Apparently it was LH who cancelled the cooporation as reported by CH-Aviation and not Privatair going bust as we thought before. (They fly short haul flights for BA ex LGW since July 10th)
Privatair was also sheduled tgo fly from DUS to EWR starting from August 2nd. (LH408, this route has now been cancelled)
Furthermore the route Frankfurt - Jeddah - Addis Abeba was also sheduled to be operated by Privatair. (LH flies this route themselves with A333/343 now)
But in the same report LH claims they want to continue the cooperation in the future and that this pause is only for the summer shedule. They claim this to be due to perational and commercial reasons.
Is it just me or does something not make sense here at all.

Shame.
However, this is confusing as privatair planes still seem to be flying.

Quick Question:
Does anybody actually know what happened to Privatair?
I mean they used to have a B787 and 5 (+5) CS100 on order!
But as far as I can see now all planes are stored...

Great news everybody: The above article is is an interview with the director of the supervisory board of privatair.
He claims that due to a fault, that has already been corrected by now, it seemed as privatair was bancrupt and hence the Swiss government reacted like this.
He furthermore claims that now privatair is again ready to fly to Pune for Lufthansa and that they are in talks with other customers (*pls be Swiss with a new route*). He then goes on about how they had to restructure in the last few years and that they have identified operational problems and fixed them by exchanging key factors abd people etc. 2017 was apparently the first years with profit and they are looking forward to being successful in the future.
