And a 2-star motel on Long Island for our stay in NYC.

Rental car? Way too much luxury, use the local A train and LIRR...

Boooked it, even without my HON number in the system. Unfortunately the website doesn't allow a seat preference for middle seats..

That's the spirit!
Don't forget to bring your F pajama!

Please PM your record locator (PNR) to berlinflyer, he'll manage the seat assignments for our group.

I would love to join you, but starting from February 11th, I can no longer do midweek travel for quite a while. But I do look forward to reading your account of the mayhem.

Would love to join as well, but will be able to book in a couple of days, because I have to re-ensure with my other appointments during this time.... Hope to get W class even in a couple of days!

I am gone for one afternoon and now this!

As andre1970 brilliantly outlined, what you are doing is not the real thing. It's like watching a safari from a airconditioned Land Rover rather than wrestling the lions with bare hands and without sunscreen lotion.

The real thing is - again thanks to TEO here - the disappointment when traveling LH. For this purpose you should have
  • checked in with my SEN number.
  • tried to use the lounges
  • asked for the reason why you cannot use them
  • book the exit row and listen to the GA why you cannot have it
  • ask the same GA if it is appropriate that the mother with the ADD kid gets your exit row.
  • Ask the same GA why the other kid with ADD then can be put in the same row you two guys are.
  • ask the FA during the flight if he can bring you some towels and napkins BEFORE getting the ADD kid another spaghetti dish after throwing/spilling it.
  • ask for ice with your diet coke
  • stand in awe at the conveyor and wonder how LH IT succeeds in making your bags pop out 15+ minutes after the last one without a priority tag on it wanders out
  • wait for the miles to post (oops that would be me)

More points why it isn't the real thing:
  • as you are booked now, you are still recognised as 1P. Seat blocking will probably work
  • MUC-EWR ain't long haul mates. Try ORD-HKG in E- instead

Oh I guess it would have been great fun! I just had my yearly portion of Carnival at the gentle men's session of the Cologne honor guard this afternoon, so I chose the Carnival weekend. It's really a pity that you can't join me, I doubt it could have been that bad with you! I am brave

Unfortunately I can't join you end of March, I have to pass my semester exams between March 17th and March 29th

I call myself lucky. I secured a bed at another flyertalker's guest room So flysurfer, if you want to uninvite your guest or make him/her come along, the only thing you have to share with me is the flight

All true, dear nemesis. And very funny, I must say (for me, not you).

Now, I forgot to publicly mention it, but I swear this is true, as we did discuss it over the phone this morning: One of our rules on this trip is "weero must not be on our flights."

We are ready to suffer, but not ready to die. At least not on the outbound flight.
