Question Bookingclass B & Boardingpasses in M ?!

Hi Guys,

I flew yesterday from BKK to STR via VIE on Austrian Metal.

Booked in Bookingclass "B" (earns 150% of Status Miles) and on checking in I got a boardingpass in Class "M" (earns 100% of SM).

Any ideas, whether i will be credited as B or as M?

Thx

Wellcome to FT LHSilversurfer.

If you paid for a B ticket and you are sure your ticket booked in B you should get 150% of the miles as you still pointed out. If you only get 100% you shouold call M&M and ask what happend.

Cheers

do you possibly mean the big M printed on the bigger part of the boarding pass? that only indicates that you are booked in eco... if there is also a small M right where the gate and boarding time info is then you should definitely check if you get 150%

If booked in -B- you will get the correct mileage.

The -M- shown on your boardingcard is only indicating in which serviceclass you will be seated.

It´s the same if you hold a Business Class ticket, it shows -C- even if booked in classes -D-, -Z-, -I- etc.

Correct.
The M you saw indicated the class of service.
On most airlines these designations are used:
M=Economy class
C=Business class
F=First class

On some airlines Y=Premium Economy (in contrast to M=standard economy)

This has nothing to do with booking class. If you don't get correct mileage, just contact M&M member service.

Not really. This designation is typical of "Amadeus" airlines like LH and SK. US airlines don't use M to designate economy class. It's typically Y.

True. M=Minderzahler (Someone who pays not the full fare).
Typical Amadeus Code.
(Even some call it Monkey-Class).

Most other Airlines calll Economy-Class Y.

What if you pay full fare economy!?! Then it's a bit rude.
