It lists LH and states, that class selection is not required for the LH queries? Is this a kind of official announcement?

It rather has to do with the way Expertflyer exchanges information with Sabre, and not with whether LH provides that info to Sabre or not.

However, with some airlines the Class need not be specified in the Class box in order to see the specific award or upgrade inventory. LH and QF are an example of these airlines. Our PDF chart therefore indicates when you must explicitly enter the Class in order to see that particular inventory.
Hope this helps.

The problem for some airlines, AA is one, is that the Classes that are used for award and upgrade inventory will not be in shown in this case. These award and upgrade classes are "hidden". In these cases, you must explicitly enter the Class letter in the Class box on the Flight Availability entry screen for it to be shown in the response. Only the Class you enter will then be shown in the response.
