Flight Stops but doesn't change number - new region?

I managed to snag a Raffles Class flight from SIN to JFK but I noticed it routes via FRA. The flight number does not change, so am I correct in thinking this will not make it a 3 region award?

I don't want to get burned by M&L asking for 40K more in miles.

Merci,
MapleLeaf

I had asimilar thing, I recall that a 3 region only applies if you have a stopover of more than 23:59 hrs....

So no....shouldn't, but if you want ot connect within, then you need th three regions ..

The three region award has to be applied as soon as you change flights in a third region (stopover or transfer) :
HKG - BKK - FRA with changing planes and flightnumbers in BKK is three region
SIN - NYC on one flight number (no matter if nonstop or via FRA) is just SE Asia to North America

The SEN hotline told me the completet opposite, as soon as the flight # changes it is a three region award.

To clarify.

If change of flight number in a third region (not same region as origin or destination) then it IS 3 region (or RTW I suppose).

If no change of flight number but transit <24 hours in a third region, it is NOT 3 region.

If no change of flight number but transit >24 hours in a third region, it IS 3 region.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kiwi.

Could you please give an example for this?
I do not know a flight operated as one flight number but transit longer than 24 hours.

I would assume it is a way of closing the loophole of doing a stop-over and jumping back onto the same flight number you arrived on doing the last 'leg'.

Yes. Eg NZ2 AKL to LAX, stop 1 or more days, then continue on NZ2 LAX to LHR.
