Covid 19: Arrival or Transit via Austria
Hello folks,
I want to fly to Bucharest via Vienna and i cannot understand from the embassy website if i can transit via Austria. My flights are London- Vienna- Bucharest and return. On both UK and Austrian embassy website it says that you can transit via Austria but without a stopover. This is very confusing. Does it mean that i can transit without staying too long in Austria i suppose? Any recent experiences?
I have an EU passport and i am fully vaccinated.

If you use that website to generate a PLF, it will give you the answer and what seems to matter is if you've been in the UK for more than 10 days without a break, as when you choose UK to VIE it says you're banned

Transit pax are exempt, and vaccinated EU citizens as well.

Sinopharm vaccine, not sure if that would work.
I guess not, as the form says entry into Austria, which shouldn't be the case if just in transit. But why can't they include a short sentence about transit to clarify this.

Transit doesn’t need anything : https://lufthansa.travel-regulations...h-enabled=true
Transiting Austria to a destination outside of Austria is possible, regardless of nationality or destination and does not require a medical certificate or the Pre-Travel Clearance registration for Austria.

Austria Requiring PCR Test Unless Boostered as of 20Dec21?
Prompted by this article, I found this Austrian government webpage that says:
But that same page directs to this page to "read more about the new rules", which in turn says:
So if I have a 2-dose vaccine within 270 days, but don't have the booster, do I need a negative PCR test as well or not? This is very confusing!
And if I do need a PCR test, is the 72-hour rule calculated from the scheduled time of arrival in Austria? What if there is a flight delay? I can only find detailed information about the 72-hour requirement on this page, and it hasn't been updated since November 17.
Apologies for posting this both here and in the Europe travel forum. My trip is in 3 days so I'm urgently trying to get some clarity / confirmation. Thank you!
From 20 December, you also need a PCR test unless you have already received the booster jab - if you can't show a PCR test upon arrival, you immediately have to self-isolate until you can present a negative PCR test.
2-dose-vaccinations are valid for 270 days after the second dose. After that a booster jab is required, which is also valid for 270 days.

For the PCR test requirement, do you know if it's 72 hours from the arrival time in Austria? What if there is a flight delay? (For entry into Canada, it's 72 hours from the scheduled departure time.)

Upon entry means at the time of crossing the border. PCR test date is time when a sample was collected.
The following regulations apply to these persons upon entry:
- Registration for pre-travel clearance at https://entry.ptc.gv.at/
- Proof of a negative molecular biological test result (PCR test); sampling must not have been taken more than 72 hours ago

Nothing is written (no condition) -> is accepted immediately (needs to appear in your covid eu pass or some confirmation).

Ok thank you. There is no EU pass here in Canada but I’ll have the PDF certificate ready. This new regulation seems to have been written very hastily so I hope they won’t be too picky…
