Air Baltic flying for LH this Summer
Hello,
This might have been taken up before, and/or it might not be a big deal for others, but I was randomly comparing some prices for this Summer via Google Flights. I then stumbled upon a few what I suppose are 6-months ACMI leases from Air Baltic with their A220-300s.
Does anyone have knowledge as to why LH are leasing BT aircraft?
During the Summer months, LH843 and LH838 are usually flown with the A320 family. Over the Summer, LH835 and LH837 are flown mainly by LH CL CRJ900s.
BT's A220s seem to operate on the LH843 departure throughout the whole Summer schedule from ultimo April up to ultimo October. I was comparing the same trips a few weeks ago, also randomly during the Summer, and back then LH843 was operated by LH's own A320 family.

I tried searching a route from other airports in Europe connecting to FRA with A320 family and CRJ900s (LUX, HAM, GOT, DRS, BRE and others), but I couldn't find a single other example of BT operating the flights.

BT had two CS3 in Munich last summer, due to the neo delays and move of E195 to EN and A319 to CL, the situation in MUC is a bit tight.
Details on the wetlease fleet are here: https://sites.google.com/site/lhgroupfleet/lufthansa

So it is possible that some FRA A319s are moved to MUC over the Summer, thus the need for the BT wetlease(s) in FRA?
Is it possible to see anywhere (OAG or the like) which flights are scheduled with CS3, and could someone with access post it here?

Routes Online monitors such things, I'm sure they will post some news soon

Airlineroute posted about this yesterday: https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...ervice-in-s20/
How many BCS3s would be needed to fulfill this schedule? 3? 5?
At this point, FRA-BLL will be operated by BT on two round trips daily (out of four), one for the early-morning departure BLL-FRA, arriving at 11pm and staying overnight in BLL, and one RT in the afternoon.

They also will fly night flight FRA-RIX and early morning flight RIX-FRA on summer schedule
Clever move from LH as that way there is no need to pay for crews stay in RIX. Flights will be A220.

BT will return to MUC this summer picking up some wetlease work to cover for the A32S delays and PW engine work.
