The passenger was calm enough, .
But pity I will never know how this story turns out.
I would claim EU261 compensation on the basis the delay was caused by the Captain refusing the request of the Mexican authorities.

If the Pax was calm after he boarded then its unreasonable of the Captain to have him offloaded, after all he could have denied him more Booze as a precondition & or requested a Doctor onboard check that he’s fit to fly.

You can ask your HON PA for a full explanation, since you were very directly affected.

Lol

In this particular case, the reason was probably something harder than Louise, so I wasn‘t too worried.

Exactly. There is no „jail“ before immigration and once the pax is through immigration he is Mexico‘s problem instead of LH‘s. So why let him enter the country. Mexico is not the only country to handle these things this way.

Have seen this a few times happening in the U.S.,
too, unusually involving incomplete documents before APIS.

Not yet, he was busy putting in his EU261 claim since he missed his connection & arrived at his final destination after his favourite watering hole had closed

These Mexican authorities are the problem!!
A few months ago 2 other LH F pax and myself (also in F) were denied entry as they claimed all of us three were intoxicated, fighting with custom authorities and refusing to give our passports to the custom officers. None of it was true! They wanted us to sign a letter and claimed that a doctor measured our alcohol in blood. No one ever did!
I later received a written confirmation from LH that I was not drunk.

Turned out the Mexicans wanted bribary. As we didn't cooperate we were put in a sort of jail for 24h (I was forced to "sleep" on the ground without a mattress etc.) and I was sent back on LH (in C) to FRA 24h after I landed in MEX.
A total disaster. LH Mexican ground staff has also been completely useless.

There seems to be consistency and I personally believe that LH ground staff is even involved as it cannot be pure coincidence that only LH F pax are accused for things they didn't commit - and later on asked for money/watch etc.

Better safe than sorry, I'll rely on the crew's discretion.

Seriously, shouldn't Helga have some kind of Pursers Envelope to slip the Mexican officials in the event of this to lubricate entry of pax into MEX?

If LH choose fly to such places, make a lot of beans, they should not accept the ways of life there?

Now you know why I rarely visit our relatives in Puebla.

But LH should have at least been able to tell the captain that the pax is not the problem. Maybe they did and that’s why he flew back in 3K.

I still do not understand why you described it as ' no arrival service whatsoever' in the Special F/HON Services thread. This sounds like ta rather special F arrival service if that's what it is.
