LHR lounge access when connecting to LH First Class

Hi. If I fly F class on LH out of Frankfurt and do LHR to FRA as a connection the day before, which lounges can I use on departure from LHR? Thanks.

What class are you flying in the day before? Same ticket?

Then you will have Business lounge access, not Senator (needs to be same-day in F).

Is it same day or within 24 hrs? I've had this issue with other airlines and seems to be a grey area!

Officially it's same day. They very well may give you Senator access, but the difference really is not that much (except for the food). If it is a late afternoon service, the Senator lounge is likely to be very full indeed, and I've often gone back to the business lounge. If you have lots of time you could go to the UA lounge, but that would probably mean a long trek back to A19ish.

Thank you. So as a LH business class pax you can also use the United Airlines lounge? Which is better LH or UA? Thanks.

It really depends what you are after.

If you have lots of time, fancy a strong martini with a view of the apron (construction site), go to the UA lounge. You'll almost certainly have to track back to A19, 20, 21, etc.

If you are tight on time, want just a glass of water or a beer and a hot bowl of a stew-like curry/European dish with rice (actually quite good), go the the LH lounge. From there it is about one minute to the gate.

I think the SQ and UA lounges are better but you will have to walk 15 minutes to get there and then 15 minutes back to the LH gate.
