Other people will know better, but this livery was used from the 70s through the early/mid 90s.

Well, I do refer to FRA as the Death Star of airports.

LH shed the super connie livery in the late 60s early 70s with the delivery of the B737 and B747. This livery stayed till 1989, where the change occurred to the most recent version with the entry into service of the B744, A320s and A340s. One of the reasons for the change back then was the extensive use of composites which did not allow for metal/silver polish of the belly...

VFT has a nice history of all liveries with links to pictures:

Olympia 1972, Hamburger Hafen, EM 1988, Condor-Bemalung fuer TPE-Ops, Lufthansa Express, Olympia-Bewerbung 2000, 25. CRJ, Little Europe, Maus, 2000. Airbus, 25. LH-A340, Star-Alliance-Sticker, Star-Alliance-Logojet schwarz, Star-Alliance-Logojet weiss, Expo 2000, Lu 1, Fussball-Nase (WM 2006), lufthansa.com, Lu 2, DFB, 50. Jahre LH/Boeing, Grand Prix Eurovision, 100 Jahre HAM, 15 Jahre Star Alliance, Monitoring for Climate Research, Pure Sky, Fanhansa, Siegerflieger (WM 2014), 1500. 747, 25 Jahre DDR-Ops.

Enjoy.

It seems airliners.net has changed their URLs...

The first B744 the new livery saw daylight this week. Adjustments to the blue, the crane on the tail and a second yellow placard at both doors now:

That blue looks more blue. It would be interesting to compare the Pantone or HEX coding next to one another, but I suppose a glossy metal surface will present differently.

This B744 and the new A359 look sort of bulky and stubby in the new livery. The effect is even more pronounced on the B744 compared to the B748, probably because the latter is a bit longer ahead of the wing...

I’m not sure where we actually stand with this right now. Is the new, dark blue logo the official logo at this time, or has it been rescinded? I slightly lost track of which way this discussion went. For some reason in my mind I thought it was some dispute about it and they had to go back on it. But maybe not.

They seem to be just fiddling around with the shade of Blue

So that means it's not yet set, how the logo should look? How will aircraft painting continue then? I just read the article in the February Exclusiv Magazin and it seems to be a lot of self important noise about absolutely nothing. Once again, some clown has filled his pocket with money over this.

Lufthansa yellow flags outside FRA T1 have been replaced by dark blue flags. They are going to look somber in winter.

Not looking forward to this sight on a dull October day.

I (FRA-based) can confirm they are exceptionally drab. Without the LH yellow, it's practically impossible to recognize whether they're an airline's flags or something else. Same thing inside the airport - dark blue really doesn't stand out. Like, at all.
