FRA FCT a zoo today 12SEP2017
Never seen anything like this before.
Arrived late from ZRH and got an apron position. 3 FC pax ... 1 car waiting ... driver had no idea if any others will come ... just drove off. Other pax needed to make a really tight connection ... nobody from LH around to help.
I ended up taking the bus and walked to the FCT. Mentioned it to the personal assistant and he said 1/2 hr ago I wouldn't have gotten a seat in the FCT at all! Seriously? On a Tuesday morning?
Either LH's business is so remarkable right now or someone is seriously dropping the ball this morning in FRA.

They kind of admitted they did not have enough cars to get all the pax ... I have just never seen this before. They had transfers for Y pax to MEX but nothing for their FC pax.

Not to take away from the OP's situation (I wouldn't be happy either if this happened to me flying FC), the Frankfurt Auto Show takes place once every TWO years, not annually. The year that Frankfurt is dark, Paris holds their Auto Show, and vice versa.

My PA who escorted me to my car for my 5pm flight today (9/12) said that today was the busiest she's ever seen the FCT in her life. I was there for about 4 hours starting at noon. It was silent until around 2pm when it did get very, but not insanely, crowded.

FRA airport authorities only allow a certain number of cars to be operated by LH for apron transfers. So they can't just 'plan for additional car transfers', but have make the best out of what they have. Of course all HON pax departing FRA ran to the FCT...

It also doesn't help that the German auto manufacturers buy the auto magazine writers F tickets on LH...
(I know they do this when introducing new models - not sure if they do this for the Auto Show as well)
