Booking a Turkish Airlines ticket with Miles & More
Hi community,
I've accumulated what seems to be enough miles with M&M to book my first award flight, yay!
I'm now looking for a flight from LON to DYU in May with Turkish Airlines (which is listed as a partner in M&M) and immediately running into problems: M&M website does not list DYU as an available destination and Turkish Airline website does have the flights, but does not seem to accept M&M anywhere to book an award flight.
Do I miss some essential part of redeeming my miles here? LON-DYU is probably not the most popular of routes and TK clearly flies there. Any advice would be appreciated.

Award space on Turkish Airlines
Hi,
Apologies if this has been covered before: does M&M have access to the same award space on TK as United or Aeroplan? I am trying to find award space from SE Asia to Europe for this summer but nothing is coming up on the M&M site. I do see plenty of availability on United and Aeroplan though.
Also tried calling the M&M call centre (US) and giving the agent the specific dates / flight numbers but she could only see the same flights as in the M&M site. Any suggestions?

If I'm not wrong it's I-fare-class space availability for TK award tickets booked by Miles&More. I am not sure if they are the same with MileagePlus or Aeroplan.

All Star Alliance carriers use X (Economy), I (Business) and O (First) class to distribute reward seat inventory to partners.
In principle, yes.
In reality, based on bilateral commercial pricing agreements between TK and LH, TK may make less inventory avaiable to LH than to UA or AC. On top of that, based on their own reward distribution principles, LH, UA and AC may choose to display that inventory to (some) members or not.
So in summary, there is no predictable way to say whether the TK availability you get via Miles&More will always match UA and AC.

Select seat on TK (booked via M&M)
Hi,
I've recently booked a ticket in J from MAD to MEX via IST (all legs operated by TK) via Miles & More. However the booking reference and the ticket number I received do not allow me to access my reservation on TK's website (I contacted TK and they told me I need a ticket number starting by 235, whilst mine starts with 220), which I would like to access in order to select a seat.
Is there any way to fix this, other than having to call M&M?

TK website will not show non-TK reservations/tickets. You can try to access it the TK app with the ticket No.
In the TK forum the same issue was discussed recently in respect to UA awards; try have a look there.
Anyway, if you can't select seats in advance, it is not the end of the world as you will be able to choose seat during OLCI. Just do OLCI early and you will have plenty of seats to choose from.
There is no point in calling M/M as most likely they will not be able to help.

It is not true. TK webpage will show any ticket that has TK segments as long as you access the reservation with a TK stock number of a TK reservation code. Call MaM and ask them to give you TK booking reference number. Using that number, you can access the booking on TK webpage.

I just booked tickets on TK to KUL on M&M as well (all TK metal segments). Try to access your bookings several times. The M&M site is on and off when it comes to seat selections. Most of the time, I couldn't do a seat selection but after a few clicks back and forth, I could see the seat selection button. Which showed for the outgoing legs but not the incoming ones.... so I did the seat selection in several trials.... good luck.
Or you can call M&M and ask them to give you the TK PNR number, which is different than the one you received on M&M. I read another thread in here that some agents claim it's the only PNR available but if you keep pushing and ask again....

Many thanks all for your help. I've tried to contact M&M but after 15mins listenning to their music I gave up. I do see the "Go to see reservation" button on M&M webpage, but when I click on it I get an error message (I've tried dozens of time already..!). I guess I'll have to wait until OLCI...
