4U missing interlining agreement with SQ
I used to fly on SQ fare DUS-FRA-SIN-ZRH-DUS with the longhauls op by SQ.
Now I can no longer book the final leg to DUS that is immediatly connecting from SQ346 because, accordign to the SQ fare rules, the ZRH-DUS flights need to be either op. by LX/LH and LH changed its flight to 4U
. Unfortunately there is no interline agreement between SQ and 4U.
So if I want to connect in ZRH I need to skip the 4U flight and wait 4h in ZRH in order to take the next preceeding LX/LH op. flight which is nonsense.
Does anyone know how my chances are when I show up in ZRH and try to be rebooked on the 4U flight? For my next flight I am booked through FRA now and I already hate the thought of waiting in the immigration queue there so I am curious whether I should take the risk and change my ticket to ZRH.
I guess the answer is NO
.
(The reason why I prefer to fly through ZRH iso FRA are better timing for me, higher PPS value, more miles and by far the better immigration than in FRA)

If the connections are bad, would it make sense to take the train between DUS and FRA, including if it's still possible to have the airport express train written as part of your plane ticket?

even in case of booking the (usually way more expensive!) codeshare, I guess it's the operating carriers interline agreements that count so even that would only work without checked bags...

Its not so much an interline topic but SQ not adjusting their fare route rules to include the feeder to be operated by 4U:
Why don't you talk to the local SQ sales rep and ask why they have not adjusted the anomaly? They evidently adjusted something to reflect the fact that DUS moves to 4U ops on 05JAN.

Looks like the systems are not connected, and it seems like she couldn't rebook me but had to issue a new ticket (booking code was different, lot of data rekeying). This makes me think that even if it would be possible from a fare rule perspective, they wouldn't be enthusiastic about it.
OS also does code-share with 4U, so they are in a substantially better position to protect passengers on 4U. My guess is that SQ is not part of the group of "LH-friends" and therefor is not able to book you on 4U no matter what at this time...

In case of irrops, the SQ agent can buy the ticket on germanwings.com.
