Put in a bid on PE (G) to J for minimum amount of $475 for Houston to Frankfurt.
Reason is that I can get the Polaris lounge for decent meal and then proper sleep. Let's see how it goes, it is on 4th of August.

My bid went through. Got the email 2-3 days prior to the flight. Put lowest bid possible.

Hi folks. Currently booked transatlantic in an X award economy fare. I then have an onward connecting flight to Scandinavia also in X.

I see there are plenty of business class seats / business class awards on the transatlantic flight. But not on my connecting flight. So it isn't letting me change the award flight to upgrade just the transatlantic portion.

I see I can bid for an upgrade, but it is only to premium economy. There is no option on the web to buy up to business.

In your experience, is a buy up to Business from X economy possible? Even at the gate? or not?

Hi there
My friend booked a PE Ticket to ORD, upgraded it to C using Vouchers which got through. Now he has an offer for 1160$ to Upgrade to F. If he gets that upgrade, which booking class will he be booked in?

Does anyone here know or have any experience if Plusgrade works on a 220- LH stock ticket on a LX prime flight.
TIA.

Hi,

I am curious if anyone knows why the bid closes 72h before the flight but they dont resolve it until an undefined time later. Why is this? Do they wait more when they expect more people buying the full fare? Wouldnt it make sense to keep it open until the last moment?

I am sure some of you will have some clever answers

They review the bids, and waitlists for mileage and evoucher upgrades & in F last minute bookings are quite common.

hi all,

After my bid upgrade went through, I could select a F seat but when I checked in my boarding pass states business class (albeit with the F seat). Is that a bug or should I give LH a call?

LH IT, if your seat is in F

Nothing to worry about. I had this often when upgrading from C to F via fixed price or bid for upgrade options. As long as you have a corresponding EMD, it should be OK. Mobile boarding passes would never display "First" for me when I did upgrades with cash. However, airport issued BPs always had big F printed on them after cash paid upgrades.

it's normal. LH's IT is terrible. Happens also with genuine F tickets

A query to the sages of this forum:

Family and I have AC tickets for a transatlantic return trip, the last segment of which is FRA-YYZ on LH in Premium Economy. I would love to check out my options to bid for C, but the My Bookings page does not show anything related to My Offer. The only two additional pieces of info that may be relevant:
- The booking is marked as "Your flights are not eligible for online modification. Please contact our call center for more details.", which I presume to be simply because it is an AC ticket.
- I did select and pay for seat assignments in PE on LH website.

Is there any magic incantation to view bidding options for our flight?

Unfortunately you can't bid for upgrade on an AC-plated ticket
