The 2000 they were serving is a far superior and complex wine. They’re not the same wine with just different vintages. The 2000 was “Cuvée des Enchanteleurs”. That said, the 2000 was not for everyone, many here didn’t like it. Very strong on the honey notes. The 2006 is ‘easier to drink’, not for me not special like the 2000. Totally fine though!

Not a big fan of either vintage.

This past week, on FRA-MEX and return they were serving Lanson Noble Cuvee 2005 (no rose or other options). Not a big fan, but I can see it appealing to some.

As an OT note, I found the wine selection to be very underwhelming overall (on par with BA in F, which is uninspiring at best). Food very good, and service absolutely outstanding.

.
It’s good Champagne & at least LH isn’t going cheap.

The Lanson is the new one in the rotation.

I agree, the wine selection is underwhelming, to put it nicely. For the most part, it’s a simple function of the budget that the sommelier has to play with and LH is skimping on that for sure.

Yes. They spend on the Champagne (which I enjoy) at the expense of the rest of the list.

it's o.k., but a bit underwhelming at the same time. Something new at least.

Too bad all my travel is cancelled, I was looking forward to IAH-FRA in 2 weeks

I enjoy a good bubbly, but also a decent red or white. Unfortunately, the quality and price difference between the champagne and the wines has been too big on the recent lists. Plus the lack of ability of our beloved "master of wine" to cater to different tastes (i.e., e.g., not putting four cab-based reds on the list) makes the LH wine list very mediocre.

The main dishes seemed dumbed down (for instance one of the 4 choices was a vegetable soup for dinner).
Most would disagree with you on the champagne. So they had the regular cheap Laurent Perrier Rose first and then they switched to the premium product? Alexandra is >$250 retail a bottle.

Sorry, I got it mixed up. They started with the Alexandra Rose which ran out after one bottle and switched to the Louise Pommery, both 2004 vintage.

I can relate to that comment

Yeah, that's quite a downgrade. They sometimes only have one or a few of their (un)announced specials.
