DFW-FRA-BKK-SYD Business Class - My First Business Class trip

Hello People,

I would be flying DFW-FRA-BKK-SYD on the 1st of Jan 2013 in Business Class using US Airways Miles, and this is my first trip ever in Business Class.

Can you please let me know what to expect in terms of lounges in DFW,FRA,BKK and the facilities on board.

I would be flying Lufthansa on DFW-FRA, Thai from FRA-BKK-SYD.

I have a connecting time of 5 and a half hrs in FRA, and a good 12 hrs in BKK.

Thanks in advance and a Happy New Year to all Flyertalkers.

Sagar

There is a lot of information to find. Just try "search" on FT.

That's the long way round! :-)

I suspect you'll have an uphill experience. Lounges get better from DFW to FRA to BKK. Airlines get better from LH to TG.

But I also suspect that somewhere south of BKK you'll ask yourself if a transpacific wouldn't have been a better idea... :-)

Enjoy!

What's that? 36 hours airport to airport. OUCH!! Even in First w lay flat beds that would be rough. In C, sounds like torture

It depends. I recall last year's OTP-WAW-CDG-BKK-HKG-IST-LAX-SFO in a mix of C, F(TG) and W(TK) classes, ~72 hours from start to end, really nice experience for me.

do you only have a one way award ticket? US only allows for roundtrip redemptions i thought. How many miles did this cost you? I tried to do the same thing, going US-Australia the long way and was told it cant be done on one award ticket.
