I've apparently helped to father a few babies this evening
but my cone count hasn't changed. 
Since my internet connection is a little slow and nothing other than the usual scene appears I try to refresh the screen a few times. Eventually I get a pop-up message that I was too late and xxxx's doe has already found a mate. I've had confirmation I was the "mate" but because I didn't wait for the pop-up to appear the number of cones has been stuck at 83 and hasn't gone up all evening!

I have 9 now. Andif I hadn't "lost" Steffi the first time my count would be at 10 as well. 83 cones is a lot but it depends on how much stuff was bought at the WorldShop. I have 42 right now - only one visit by the squirrel so far. But 27 trees planted.

Got 1 tree left to plant. Cones rack up quite nicely.
Okay makes sense. Only had one baby so far. Happiness gauge dropped to 50% on the 3rd or 4th of December. Clearly that was too much too handle for them poor deers.

If I was one of those LF guys would try to make it hard for the next level:
increase the number of reins to 13 (takes 3/4 more days)
plant 10 trees (this would be hard for those that already have 20+ planted trees)
boast stamina to 30 +
or buy a Wordlshop item worth 50 cones

87 cones here and 1 tree left. I guess from tomorrow I would focus the stamina on converting the 28 buckets of poop. I hope there are more trees coming up.
