SFO next A380 destination from may 2011...

just saw this on twitter! apparently SFO will be the next 380 destination... ^

Wow! Unbelievable!!! I can't wait to see A380 is coming into SFO. I am looking forward to it.

Here the schedules where LH is introduce newest A380 service.

LH 455 SFO-FRA 1420-1005
LH 454 FRA-SFO 935-1155

The A380 will inauguration goes on effective May 10, 2011.

And why exactly ? LX flies to SFO with their new C class, LH on the A380 with old C. No reason at all to book LH.
In F, LH might be great on the A380, but expensive in revenue and tricky to get as an award. I'd also go with LX in this case, as awards are available and LX F can be purchased in some markets at very reasonable rates.

Ugh...this may be bad for me, as I was intending to book an LH F award FRA-SFO in about a week when the schedule opens. I hope they don't yank F award inventory before then.

Looks like it's already been yanked. Timing couldn't have been worse.

EDIT: Never mind -- it's still there some days. I guess we'll see.

Cheapest business class fare from Europe seems to be LH ZRCGGW ATH to SFO for €2208. (30582mi = 7cpm)
Cheapest first class is ARFLH IST to SFO for €6679.
And for completion sake, cheapest economy is LNNZHU BUD to SFO for €540 (8840mi = 6cpm)
And cheapest 100% miles economy is VLRCHUW BUD to SFO for €791 (16088mi = 5cpm)

This is so exciting - I had already booked an F award SFO-FRA for our honeymooon in July...now instead of B744 it's going to be on the A380!

Got an F award for SFO-FRA booked. Flight in December, so I'll look forward to the A380
