Either sell-off to the highest bidder (not much to be expected) or bankruptcy proceedings in a couple of months.

Are there any parts of their operation that have value? Routes equipment facilities etc. Perhaps a retrenchment to this core and sell off the rest.

Up to now the strategy was to feed pax from the loss making shorthaul operation onto the loss making longhaul operation !

They also have a union infested LTU environment, just to name one of the problems.

Sounds like they need a taxpayer funded bailout, they should concentrate all efforts on finding something that is 'essential' to the nation, Europe etc.

Thanks! I suppose…

What you may not have noticed was I actually reached the milestone twice. The post count reached 10K on Monday night but for some reason it went down to below 10K yesterday. Apparently there was no explanation. I thought our Mod was busy deleting my posts.

There is a mod corps of 90+ out there looking after things on FT. As far as I'm concerned I've not touched any of your posts in a looong time.

I have it on good authority there was no sign of any mod getting delete happy.

Interesting that FRA is only the second regular international destination to be served by the 787. HND-FRA will be a truly overnight flight that I'd like to try some time.

All the routes that ANA are proposing for the 787 appear quite surprising. Not the 'long thin routes' that the 787 is usually associated with.

Looking forward to seeing the plane at FRA and hopefully taking a flight.

The 787 is just a ultra modern 767 with low fuel consumption and neat features and will be used as such by the airlines. Another factor may be that they rather use the new aircraft on routes where there is plenty of capacity available should the aircraft have problems in the startup phase.
