Replies to my question are much appreciated. I will be watching the situation from Lucerne and Zurich. I have UAs number in Switzerland, so will make that call when it is deemed necessary. But I'll also plan a trip to the airport the night before my ZRH-FRA flight.

I think I'll check the flt schedule on Swiss from ZRH to FRA, just so I've got an idea of my re-scheduling options, IF the strike happens. I've also looked at train schedules, but I much prefer a flight.

UA might also route me thru Dulles, I suppose. Not what I'd prefer.

Thanks.

I quick check of Swiss flts (at the appropriate time in the a.m.) shows only codeshare flts operated by LH!

Newbie, where were those special schedules posted 3-days prior to the strike last time? I assume it was on the LH web site?

Yes, they were on the LH website, prominently linked from the homepage. I think they listed all the flights which were operating in flight number order.

Thanks for the good news! I'm relieved I won't have to deal with BMI's ICC about my award flight on the 16th.

That is good news. But I think I will still keep an eye on things, especially since I'll be staying very close to ZRH the night of the 13th, flying on LH the morning of the 14th.

Fingers crossed that I don't have problems.

I wouldn't worry about it. So far it was all sabre rattling. Now they will talk to settle things via mediation. Standard procedure in German labour disputes.

Appreciate the news, even though the BabelFish translation provided a rather absurd telling of events that are transpiring.

Fortunately I will have my new iPad with me while traveling over the next two weeks so can keep tabs on developments... Most importantly, I won't have to worry about catching an 8a replacement flight on TK and then spending the balance of the day in a Senator lounge at FRA until my flight to IAD departs. (Passed a full day at FRA in January, but at least back then I was on LH in F so I could use the FCL. This time it's just UA in C. )

Sorry -

Can a German speaker confirm that this means definitely no strike in two weeks? I was about to book - ugh - United to be safe.

Basically both LH and pilots union agree on mediation. However, LH insists on pilots calling off the strike first before mediation starts to which the pilots don't agree.

There won't be any negotiations over Easter.

Personally, I don't think there will be a strike.

Seems like a bit of powerplay. "You do this or else I will not let you into my sand pit".
