Dim sum?

Any good recommendations for dim sum in LA? We've been to the Din Tai Fung Dumpling House in Arcadia, but it's kinda far from where my friend lives (UCLA area) so we're looking for something a bit closer.
Thanks!

thanks! I had tried to search but "dim sum" fell into the 3-letter word category so I got nothing.

Looked in Zagat and Yelp...just looking for opinions on what others might like.

Generally, the good dim sum is in the san gabriel valley. Chinatown has a few places, but they are mostly cart service and lower quality. Not much closer, but if you want cart service and good quality, you should try Ocean Star in Monterey Park on Atlantic just south of the 10.

empress pavilion in chinatown is a reliable standby, but still a distance from ucla. there's a very american place on san vicente in brentwood (the name escapes me) that calls itself "dim sum and then some," but it isn't dim sum at all.

While not close to where my friend lived, we hit up NBC Seafood in Monterey Park. It was quite enjoyable...esp. since I can't get dim sum in BNA.

Thanks for all of the help!

Not especially good, but it is, as far as I know, the only dim sum place anywhere near Westwood.

VIP Harbor Seafood Restaurant and Dim Sum
11701 Wilshire Blvd # 16
Los Angeles, CA 90025
(310) 979-3377

Correction: There is another place which was not too bad a couple of years ago.

Dim Sum Chinese Restaurant
3680 Wilshire Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90010
(213) 739-5088
