Dukes in Malibu?

How is the Dukes restaurant in Malibu? I have been to the Dukes in Huntington Beach many times, and I enjoy the atmosphere and view there. Can anyone compare the Malibu location?

I was at Duke's in Malibu about 2 weeks ago; can't compare but thought it was an over-priced restaurant/pub with a great view of the ocean. It seemed like it was full of Baywatch wannabee's.

Not a place I would rush back to.

I personally enjoy Dukes. Food and booze is average, but the Malibu location's view makes up it.

Dukes Malibu

Ok its not the same as the one in Waikiki.
Not by a longshot. But the theme is the same.
Its right on the water. This used to be the old Sea Lion
years ago. Great location.
It gets packed on the weekends. Food is OK. Service is good.
View is awesome. Worth a try.
We always stop for a quick one here when driving up to Malibu
or up to Ojai for the weekend. Lots of wanna be`s hang here.

That pretty much sums it up. View is great, though.

locals refer to it as "duke's ditch." i'd concur with everything said so far about it.

The view is fine but the drinks and food is so so. I was there last Monday. hadn't been there for a year or two. Maybe you can try Moonshadows?

Skip Dukes and try one of these places:

Gladstones
Moonshadows
Charthouse

All on the beach

I wasn't fond of Dukes the few times I've been there. Merely okay.

I like Paradise Cove, even though it's further out, because you can sit outside with your feet in the sand if you use the self-serve station...get your own drinks and food. Or you can eat inside the restaurant and be served.

You do have to pay to park if you don't eat at the restaurant and the parking is only for 2 hours, but even if you stay for over 2 hours, it's not outrageous. The beach is nice here, too.

Avoid Gladstones. It is truly terrible.

Dukes is a little noisy (sometimes more than a little) but the food-n-booze is fine and the view is fantastic. I like Gladstones but I remember it as much pricier.
