Chicago grub in LA

Miss your Chicago style hot dog or Italian Beef?

TASTE CHICAGO
603 N Hollywood Way
Burbank
818.563.2800

Taste Chicago serves Vienna hot dogs w/the steamed poppy seed buns as well as Itailian Beef sandwiches.

Apparently deep dish pizza is on it's way as it was demanded by their clientele.

Apparently Portillo's (Chicago-area dog/italian beef chain) is planning a LA-area outlet at some point within the next year or two.

Mmmmmm....Portillo's.

My sister who lives west of ORD was out two weekends ago, and was telling my wife about Portillo's Chocolate Cake Milkshakes. My wife who will not get on a plane, almost was convinced to start flying again.

Once they open in Los Angeles, its just one more reason she will stay grounded!

_______

BTW, I've been to Portillo's three times and certainly liked it, but can't say I'd go out of my way to find one when I'm in the Chicago area, considering all the great food opportunities in that metropolis.

There is a Chicago style joint in Los Alamitos on Katella. It's been a few years since I've been there and I can't recall the name, but it is in a strip mall near Tony Romas. In the summer they always have the Cubs on TV.
