Question Traveling from NYC to Los Angeles Possible? Is Quarantine Required in Los Angeles?

If someone healthy arrives at Los Angeles (LAX) from New York City (JFK), what happens? Is there a mandatory quarantine policy in effect at Los Angeles? If yes, will it be relaxed later this month? When? And, if a mandatory quarantine policy is in place, how Los Angeles is implementing it? Is it necessary to carry some form of paperwork (test result, immunity passport, etc.)? It seems the policies are widely varying (and tremendously confusing) from one city/county/state to another. Is there a website with up-to-date information? Thanks.

No mandatory quarantine policy that I know of, but masks are required in LAX and in general throughout SoCal when out and about. There's also no papers policy - enforcement of all the safer-at-home requirements has primarily been honor system. Los Angeles County, City of LA, Long Beach, and Pasadena all have issued essentially the same order so that things are consistent throughout the area. Other cities within LA County don't have their own health departments and fall under the county one.

There is almost no difference if someone unhealthy arrives. Unless someone requires medical attention and thus comes to the attention of the broader Covid control system, it is highly unlikely that anyone will ever notice or do anything. This is the essence of the "community spread" problem.

As noted in the other thread, the actual guidance is "Everyone is asked to wear a face covering when they are interacting with others who are not members of their household in public and private spaces.". So they are not required when out and about, but only when directly interacting with others.

Unless you're out on a hiking trail that nobody knows about (there are still a few around here) or in your own car, it's pretty likely that you'll be interacting with people from outside your household.
