Taxi/Uber/Lyft/Opoli/TNCs pickups move from Upper Level to LAX-it (east of Terminal 1, follow Lime Green Signs or take green LAX-it shuttles on Lower Level Inner Curb)
Taxi(only) in addition to LAX-it, taxis can also be picked up inside parking structure 3 (between TBIT & Terminal 3, lower level) and at the far end of Terminal 7 (outside baggage claim); if there are no taxis in the rank, there is a sign with a number to call to request one
Hotel/Private Parking Shuttles move from Lower Level to Upper Level (Red Signs)
FlyAway (Light Blue Signs) and all LAWA buses (A - Airline Connector, C - LAX City Bus Center, E - Lot E, M - Green Line, X - Employee parking) move from Lower Level Outer Island to Lower Level Inner Curb (Pink/Magenta Signs)
Shared Ride Vans (e.g. Super Shuttle), Charter Buses, and Scheduled Buses/Shuttles (Antelope Valley, Central Coast, Mickey's Space Ship, Santa Barbara Airbus, Shuttle One, Shuttle 2000, Ventura County Airporter) move and consolidate to Lower Level Outer Island Curbs (Orange Signs)
Rental Car Shuttles move to different locations on the Lower Level Outer Island Curbs (Purple Signs)
TCP (Limos/Uber Black/Lyft Lux Black) and Personal Vehicles (e.g. a friend you coerced into picking you up) move from Lower Level Inner Curb to the Lower Level Outer Island Curb (White Zones/Painted Curbs)

) There are also signs inside the terminal buildings stating that there are rideshare pickup points outside on the curb (but no directional signs otherwise).

We were there after midnight and there were many other groups waiting at the wrong spots. But the good part is the once we get to the post, the rest was easy and cheap. My house is 70 miles from LAX and none of my family wants to come at midnight to pick us up and I don't blame them. So I tried to get a car service and the cheapest place quoted $160. Called Lyft and got home by 1:30 and only $72... tip him $10 which is still half the price of the cheapest car service. The guy was really nice too, offer us water and charger for phones and our choice of radio stations.

Is anyone else having problems with drivers cancelling rides out of LAX once they find out destination? 4 times in the last 2 months I have had a ride accepted where the driver calls just to make sure I am in the right spot and asks where I am going. After we hang up I then get an alert the driver has cancelled. This is beyond annoying. I live a decent fare away from LAX too (miracle mile right by the Grove).
Sadly for a service meant to be about convenience I am starting to go back to cabs

Just to note, the driver doesn't see your inputted destination until they start the ride, to prevent exactly what happened above.

When I called for Lyft at LAX last week, I told that driver before stepping in that I am going 70 miles east and if he is okay with that. He said that's perfect because his home is that way too.

Any to IceTrojan's point they do not see destination until they start ride. Their call to make sure I know where the pick up point is on departure level is a not so cleverly disguised effort to cherry pick. In future I am just going to ignore their calls - they can cancel if they like I guess. You pick your pickup sign point in the app so as far as I am concerned they already have the info they need

It's their choice whether or not to drive for UberX. If they choose to do so, they can decide to be praise-worthy or complaint-worthy.

I'm a bit confused by this thread. I'm arriving at LAX with AA (Terminal 6) and I'd like to know how to find the Uber pick-up point. Are there any signs I can follow?
Thanks.
What exactly do you mean by "letter post" Need?
Thanks
Thanks.
OMG, I swear those "rideshare pickup point outside on the curb" signs are there to confuse people! They have those signs inside the terminal on every exit door so we thought we could just go outside and call a ride. Turns out you have to actually get to the "letter" post which you can't see if you exit the wrong door.
Thanks

I didn't screenshot it yesterday, but the Uber location pickup prompt included locations such as TBIT South Door. I chose a lettered pickup anyways.
Traffic was really bad on the LAX loop yesterday--for any vehicles whatsoever. Next time I'll probably walk from TBIT/T4 to pickups E or F for faster departure from LAX.
