Taxi/Uber/Lyft/Opoli/TNCs pickups move from Upper Level to LAX-it (east of Terminal 1, follow Lime Green Signs or take green LAX-it shuttles on Lower Level Inner Curb)

Taxi(only) in addition to LAX-it, taxis can also be picked up inside parking structure 3 (between TBIT & Terminal 3, lower level) and at the far end of Terminal 7 (outside baggage claim); if there are no taxis in the rank, there is a sign with a number to call to request one

Hotel/Private Parking Shuttles move from Lower Level to Upper Level (Red Signs)

FlyAway (Light Blue Signs) and all LAWA buses (A - Airline Connector, C - LAX City Bus Center, E - Lot E, M - Green Line, X - Employee parking) move from Lower Level Outer Island to Lower Level Inner Curb (Pink/Magenta Signs)

Shared Ride Vans (e.g. Super Shuttle), Charter Buses, and Scheduled Buses/Shuttles (Antelope Valley, Central Coast, Mickey's Space Ship, Santa Barbara Airbus, Shuttle One, Shuttle 2000, Ventura County Airporter) move and consolidate to Lower Level Outer Island Curbs (Orange Signs)

Rental Car Shuttles move to different locations on the Lower Level Outer Island Curbs (Purple Signs)

TCP (Limos/Uber Black/Lyft Lux Black) and Personal Vehicles (e.g. a friend you coerced into picking you up) move from Lower Level Inner Curb to the Lower Level Outer Island Curb (White Zones/Painted Curbs)

This morning I was headed towards arrivals. Inspection was occurring on both levels at the Century Blvd. exit.

Used Uber from T4 this past week. Pick up was easy-meeting spot in front of the AA Flagship door on Arrivals level (employee bus zone) I will use again.

Were there any airport extra charges for Uber?

FYI Took it on Thursday evening, and the sign was missing for whatever reason. I walked down to the T6 pickup sign to be sure.

Yep. I would venture a guess that the construction around the T4-TBIT connector has something to do with it.

So that D location is basically right about the TBIT taxi queue?

Upper level has a taxi queue? Oh, I see, I think you meant to say above.

The two times we've now used Uber out of T4, we've given the Flagship Checkin as our reference point to the driver. Much closer to where we actually exit, and a known landmark. Also easier to pull in and pick up than in that mess between T4 and TBIT.

Typo in my post - 'about' should have been 'above.' Sorry.

The drivers I have spoke with specifically informed me that they are not permitted to pick up anywhere but the Ride Share locations.

Otherwise, they are subject to a fine; as a result I walk to the E location for T4.

Walked by the Flagship Check-In area and there was another UberX there waiting for his fare. Still missing the ride-share pickup sign in that area.

Would it be possible to set my destination for a hotel close to LAX and then tell the driver to keep driving to LAX to avoid the drop off fee?

LAWA is trying stem the loss of parking fees that's why they are charging $4; a novel idea is to stop at IN N OUT on your way to LAX (if you have sufficient time). You can easily be dropped off there, grab lunch or dinner and then walk into the terminal area.

This way you pay for lunch with the savings and burn some calories too.

No way you'd burn as many calories as you just ingested there.

Less about parking fees, more about surcharges placed on taxi/private hire pickups.
