LAWA is trying stem the loss of parking fees that's why they are charging $4; a novel idea is to stop at IN N OUT on your way to LAX (if you have sufficient time). You can easily be dropped off there, grab lunch or dinner and then walk into the terminal area.

This way you pay for lunch with the savings and burn some calories too.
