Beverly Hills / West Hollywood to BUR noonish on a Sunday

Curious what estimated drive times might be to catch a BUR flight. I'll be taking the Ooberz or Lifte so no issues with rental car return time.

Traffic in LA is totally unpredictable, even on the weekends. Neither Beverly Hills nor West Hollywood are in close proximity to freeways that head to the east San Fernando Valley, where BUR is located. The most direct route is via one of the canyons to the Ventura Fwy (101 & 134) to Pass Avenue and Hollywood way. That trip can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour (or even longer).

Thanks. I'm familiar (generally) with the routes, but haven't lived down there for over 30 years. I figured it was no worse that getting into LAX, which while there are all sorts of alternate routes, has been a nightmare to actually get into once you get "almost there."

Getting into BUR *way* easier than getting into LAX. It's just getting over Cahuenga pass (or any of the passes) can be really slow when something messes up traffic. It's likely to not be too bad headed northbound on a Sunday - even if there's event traffic around the bowl or ford amphitheater, once you're past there it shouldn't be bad - Cahuenga to Barham usually moves ok even if the 101 is bad.

It would seem no reason to go that far east - just go over one of the canyons.

Depends on weather OP is coming from Beverly Hills or WeHo. Beverly Hills it's probably faster to go over Coldwater, but from WeHo the shortest way is probably over Cahuenga to Barham, and it keeps you off the 101 - Laurel Canyon takes you farther west.

Perhaps. If a canyon gets backed up, you and your Ooberz or Lifte have nowhere else to go. If on a freeway, you and your driver will have other options (including one or more canyons).
