I will be crushed if they get rid of the Daily Grill at TBIT. I love sitting up on the mezzanine on the bar side, with one of their excellent pot pies and a beer, watching the scrum of Chinese visitors with bag carts piled high with goodies, queuing (im)patiently at the airline counters below.

Hold on...where's hot pot, noodle bar, and shabu shabu?
Foot massage and KTV?
Chinese tourists are the largest group of spenders.
Got to keep them fed and happy!
The 31 restaurants set to open include ink.sack, Border Grill, Umami Burger, 800 Degrees and Larder at Tavern, and the 50,000 square feet of retail space will feature shops such as Fred Segal, Bvlgari, Porsche Design and Kitson

A few more ideas as sure win-win: duty-free Apple and Google Stores, with on the spot activations. Never mind the burger joints although sweet potatoe fries might be a hit. KFC as comfort food, side-by-side wih XiaLongBao & bowls of beef stew n noodles soup.
Once they are full - modernized squat toilets in stainless steel would make them feel right at home - it's afterall, not uncommon to find them in France, Italty, Turkey & other places all over Europe & even other parts of SE Asia Otherwise, there's going to footprints on top of the bowls.
Smoking lounges would be a huge plus, but out of the question & let's not kowtow to that. Some one-arm bandits a/k/a slot machines won't be a bad idea either ...

I'm going on the tour on Saturday
The lack of Asian food in the partial list of restaurant is disappointing. I'll wait to see what the full list looks like.
No noodle or dumpling place = total fail

They are fully acclaimated to BK, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and 7-11's - maybe not Dunkin Donuts or Bagels n Lox or Cream Cheese.
One of our nieces think that Gucci and Coach duty-frees store would do exceptionally well and they won't have to be driven all the way out to a Tanger Outlets - and stood in roped off lines, and bring them up to the gates for pickup just before departure - and not be counted against their free baggage allowance.

Excellent! Birthing tourism is huge.

Yuk, I want to see chicken feet and pork intestines.
Premium Outlets should build an annex to TBIT.

Looks like there will be a sushi bar and Panda Express behind the TSA (in addition to the existing Panda Express outside TSA).
I saw a 800 degree pizza stand, Vanilla Bake Shop, Marmalade, Boarder Grill. I'll make a separate thread about my tour.
