ONT to be downsized?

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...3886258.column

Yes, not technically Los Angeles, but it is considered an L.A. area airport and is run by the L.A. airport authority. We're doing our bit to keep up passenger numbers, flying into (on Southwest) and out of (on American) ONT in February.

ONT is my home airport and I can't say I'm surprised. I doubt it will actually happen though with gate leases and the employee unions in the mix. The recession is certainly playing a role but significantly higher airfares probably have more do to with the declining passenger traffic at ONT.

Downsizing certainly makes sense given the low demand
