Jan. Hilton Points Posted
Just checked our account statement, and the Jan. transfer for both my wife and I have posted. Glad to see those 120,000 Hilton points. Makes me lots less nervous about getting my value out of the program.

I'm glad you got yours. I'm still waiting. I sent in this month's request and asked for a response on last month's, but I really don't expect LP to respond since they haven't shown much in the way of customer satisfaction in the past.

None for me either
Did you all do anything special like contact Hilton? I've asked about my Jan. Hilton transfer at least 5 times since my request the first week of January. The current answer is that they sent the miles on January 29th so I should just be patient. I would have thought that Hilton would post an entire batch together. Were either of your posted Hilton transfers sent by LP on January 29th?

I did nothing special at all. I sent in the request in the first week of January, and have not contacted LP or Hilton about the transfer at all since then.

I got mine posted yesterday. Sent in request on 4 Jan.
I called LP about 8 times, with not much luck except they would "resend" and "check back tomorrow".
I finally called HH and talked to agent. He took down my LP number, Number of miles (30K) to transfer to HH (60K points), date LP said they sent transfer, etc. last Wed. He said to call back in a day or so and he would post info as a comment in my HH account. I called HH Fri morning (could not get on line) and a different agent said not posted. He did not see any comments in my record. So I gave him same info and he said he would "get it done"
Not sure who did what or if it just happened, but when I checked HH last night - 60K points added!!
Hope LP is getting the process improved so not the hassel in the future.
HOWEVER my wife's Marriott points for Dec still not posted (submitted in early Dec.) So another thing to work on.

After reading posts as we've gone along in the LatinPass saga, something strikes me. If I were transferring from say UA to Hilton, I would allow a month before I even expected the points or felt it appropriate to check up on it with a phone call. But Latin Pass gets follow up calls fast, furious and constant. Now, I know that some of this stems from mistrust and prior problems with transfers. However, how much is self fulfilling in terms of poor service if their lines are tied up always checking up on things that, according to the 'rules' of not just LP but of virtually all FF programs, takes a month or so to get done. If I add up all the followups mentioned in LP threads and consider it against the staff it seems a lot of 'pressure' could be taken off the system by just giving these people a little time to do their jobs.
Now, before the flamethrowers come out, I am not saying LP is doing a good job, in many many respects, they are not. However, both from a selfish point of view (I want the agents free to process actual requests, not follow up all the time) and from a fairness point of view (the front line staff did not bring on the million mile promo but they have to deal with it...and...it was a great promo and in the end very rewarding) I think it is a good idea to give these folks some room to work. When I have a request I give them what I want, a range to work with, and ask when to check back. Then I call a few days after the date they gave me. I don't call on Mondays. They are uniformly nice to me, appreciative of my low-key approach, and I have gotten every single request back as a yes and when promised.
Sure, it would be great if they had real time rez, real time online account info, accepted credit cards, etc. But they didn't do any of those things when the promo started and never promised them as part of the package. I don't argue they haven't held up their in some respects, that they have taken out their frustration with their miscalculation on their customers (which is a poor thing to do since the idea of the promo was happy customers). Still, a million miles should buy them some slack, not constant indignation and complaint.
As an aside, I spent 9 months getting a one-world bonus credited on BA. Very straightforward, they had original paperwork for 6 months...sound familiar... and that 'the worlds favourite airline' with a modern computer system and plenty of staff.
I would be all in favor of a collective and reasonable approach to LP from 500K and 1000K flyers. They key is reasonable and balanced. I would focus on streamlining redemption and getting committments on consistency. Within those improvements I don't see 250K year as a overly onerous thing. And remember, if you fly them, put revenue in like a frequenty flyer typically does, you get to unlock 5X the miles... again, not unreasonable. Despite all the frustrations (and boy I was frustrated I got locked out of marriott because my bonus posted so late) I think this can be made to work fairly and respectfully of all parties.

I agree with your observation wormwood, that these things take time to get done, even with other airlines. That is why I hadn't called either LP or Hilton about the Jan. LP to Hilton transfer, and it happened just like it was supposed to, with no phone calls. I did finally write some letters on the original LP bonus posting, but not until I had given them plenty of time to do so.

Wormwood, I think you make an excellent point. I was grateful for the opportunity to earn 1,000,000 miles for myself and my family to use. I think the 250,000 limit is very fair, especially if it keeps LP solvant. I think that if we work WITH LP, rather than AGAINST them, we'll all win.

Although this note is on Marriott, similar topic and I referred to it in an above post.
My wife's Marriott transfer of 4 DEC finally posted. :-) LP had said they had transferred and re-sent this during multiple phone calls, but Marriott, when contacted, could not find it. I finally called a Marriott Customer Serv. representative who (after my insistance) put me on hold and talked to the Marriott "partner liasion". He got back to me in 2 minutes and said the Marriott Number sent to them ended with a 5, not a 1 which was my wife's account. And that they would get it posted. Three days later, 60K points on her account.
Sounds like LP keyed in wrong last digit, but one would think with the name, Marriott would have been able to figure it out. So not sure who to blame - but it did work out. Just shows one must (after a reasonable amount of time) follow up on these problems.

Call Hilton Honors. Ask to have the Partner Liason desk check it out. Give them all the info, dates, acct number for LP and HH. Have Cust Serv. make comment in your record. Get his name. Then call back in a day or two. That's what I did - and they got it done.

Wow! I just checked my HHonors account and there is an additional 120,000 miles in it as of today! My LP transfer from December and January finally posted. However, I can't blame LP for the length of time that it took, because I sent down both requests (I copied the body of the first request with and only changed the date for the second request) with a missing HHonors Account digit. When I finally realized MY mistake, I contacted both HHonors and LP less than a week ago and asked that they try to find my missing miles. I don't know who I can thank for correcting my mistake, but I'm grateful to both parties.

Yesterday, I emailed Adam Burke at Hilton about my missing/late January (and February) transfer. Today my Hhonors account has 120,000 additional points. Thanks Adam! (and Schutzee)
