Anyone else visiting Costa Rica in August?

My family and I will be in Costa Rica from August 11th until August 21st. We were tempted to try to see as much as possible, and were considering the Caribbean beaches, the Nicoya peninsula, the pacific beaches near Tamarindo, and the Osa peninisula in the Southwestern part of the country along with a return visit to my favorite place in Costa Rica, the Arenal Volcano. However, due to some health issues, we decided instead to stay in one general area as a base to explore from. We are renting a house on Lake Arenal, near Nuevo Arenal for a week ending on the 18th, then probably will spend the last three nights nearer to the Arenal Volcano until we leave on the 21st. The average daily high temps in this area are only about 80 degrees in August and the mosquitos usually make themselves scarce.

Please PM me if your plans include Arenal and you want to get together for some lava viewing or at the house on the lake. The lake is known for excellent windsurfing. Here's the house:

and the two hotels we are looking at for the 18th-21st:

and I was wondering if you would top the house you had at VNP last year.

As for a hotel dont know who's going but when I get back there later in the fall Ill use my week at the Marriot Los Seunas, and stay a couple of nights at The Tabacon Resort, which is on the main road to The Arenal Observatory Lodge. I saw a couple of the cheaper rooms at the AOL and it was like a bunk at a sleep away. I stayed that night at a place called Montana which was just out of La Funtana and before The Tabacon. the hot springs at The Tabacon were very tempting but traveling alone I did the canopy tour and used the Hot Springs the locals use which was across from the Fancy ones.
Enjoy and Im sure you will

What website/service do you use to find your house rentals?

We used google and went from there. We found the one we rented in CR on:

http://www.volcanorentals.com/rates.htm

others we were looking at were:

http://www.vrbo.com/ and
http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacat...osta-Rica.html

There are many others. Then we just contact the agents or owners. We had really good luck in May last year with a house Volcano ,Hawaii (complete with a visit and a hike to flowing lava with craz) and for with renting a bure in Taveuni, Fiji this May. Usually runs about the price of a hotel room in a moderately priced resort.
